After finising her residency in pediatrics at the Marmara University Hospital in Istanbul Dr. Isik moved to the USA where she started her pediatric neurology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999. She did one year of adult neurology and 2 years of pediatric neurology residency as required by the American Board of Neurology. After finishing her residency she moved to St. Louis for a fellowship in pediatric epilepsy with a special emphasis in epilepsy surgery. After finising it, she started to work at Marmara University Department of Pediatrics as a pediatric neurology specialist. She moved to Acibadem Hospitals in 2005 where she had the opportunity to work on epilepsy surgery in children with intractable seizures. Even though she sees patients with different neurological problems, her main interest is pediatric epilepsy and epilepsy surgery in children.
