Seeking treatment in Turkey
- How do I schedule an appointment with your hospitals?
You can contact the International Patient Center via telephone, fax or email. You can call us from our contact numbers on the back page of this brochure or fill-up our enquiry form on our website www.acibademinternational.com
- If I do not speak Turkish, how can I get help with communication? When can I contact you?
Most of our physicians are bilingual (mostly turkish and english) and our hospitals provide translation services according to the nature, culture, language of the patent. International Patient Center Staff speak in all international languages; English, Turkish, Russian, Albanian, Arabic etc. We provide interpretation services at our healthcare establishment to ensure that international patients are able to communicate effectively with our medical professionals. You may contact us at any time of the day, 7 days a week for your enquiries. However the best time is during working hours from 08:00 – 18:00, from Monday to Friday.
- My family is accompanying me for my medical treatment. Where can they stay?
When you make an appointment with the international patient center, let them know that your family will be travelling with you, and they will make the necessary accommodation arrangements. It would be helpful if you can give us an indication of your budget as well.
- Can I seek treatment in your hospitals without a medical appointment?
It is best to schedule appointments before your arrival to minimise delays and inconvenience.
Our International Patient Center caters to international patients, meeting their personal, cultural and travel-related needs. The professional staff will provide you with assistance; in hospital admission and discharges, payment procedures and in simplifying financial transactions, language interpretation, local tours and excursions, visa procedures, guidance before and after arrival, and with international insurances. We can arrange for consultations, second opinions for treatments, and coordinate appointments. We can also offer cost estimates, interpretation services and facilitate travel arrangements.
- Can I set up an appointment with a doctor in one of your hospitals even if I do not have a referral from my local doctor?
Yes, you may contact our International patient center directly and make appointments accordingly. It is important that you bring along information about your previous medical treatment and your medical records.
- When making a medical appointment, what information must I provide? Which documents must I bring?
You need to state your name, as shown in your passport, your present address, date of birth, your medical problem and the preferred date of the appointment. You must have on hand all relevant information on your medical condition, including x-rays, medical history/records, and your current medication. It is useful to have supporting documentation on your prescription drugs. Carry the contact details of your local doctor who has referred you.
- Will the time required for processing my visa be reduced if I need urgent medical attention in Turkey?
If your condition warrants urgent medical treatment and attention, the International Patient Center is able to liaise with the local immigration authorities (Immigration & Checkpoints Authority) on your behalf to facilitate and expedite the visa process.
