General Surgery

Acıbadem Health Group General Surgery Division has been organized to provide examination and treatment for the patients in the present hospitals, medical centers, and outpatient centers. Inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services are provided 24/7.

The unit’s mission is to provide a patient-focused, friendly, qualified, reliable service, free of medical faults. In all clinical surgery practices, including mainly minimal invasive (Laparoscopic – bloodless surgery) and emergency surgery, becoming a centre of attraction in Istanbul has been adopted as the vision of the unit.

At training meetings that are regularly held every week, operations that have been or are to be conducted are being evaluated. At these meetings, guides are also created in cooperation with the relevant units in order to achieve consensus in clinical practices. Conferences and panels are organized, involving in-group and guest lecturers, and consequently, an exchange of information takes place between colleagues from different groups. On a periodic basis, meetings are held with the industrial companies of the sector to introduce new products, and platforms are created where the actual issues are discussed.

Thanks to the depth of specialty in different areas of interest, pioneer applications are undertaken in minimal invasive surgery in particular, in emergency surgery and endocrine (breast, thyroid gland and adrenal cortex) surgery as well as in gastrointestinal tract (digestive system) surgery and hepatopancreaticobiliary (liver, pancreas and biliary tract) surgery. The centre is on the road to become a centre of reference in hernia surgery, and have in the recent years, conducted numerous laparoscopic surgeries for hernias (bloodless surgery).

All interventions in colon and rectum (large intestine) diseases are being conducted using the state-of-the-art technologies. In particular, a wide range of therapies are offered to our people in anal region diseases such as hemorrhoid, fistula and fissure.

At Acibadem Health Group, radiological examinations (x-ray, ultrasonography, computerized tomography, magnetic resonance, angiography, cholangiography), endoscopy and percutaneous biopsy methods are used in coordination with relevant specialists in order to obtain data for planning patient care and treatment.

Owing to all these characteristics, Acıbadem Health Group General Surgery Department renders a very qualified medical service that is far beyond that of a standard private health institution. Dedicated to these principles, Acıbadem Health Group maintains intensive scientific relations (mutual visits, electronic communication and videoconferencing) with Harvard Medical International, its business partner. The unit has adopted it a mission to inform our people about the issues in General Surgery through training seminars, magazines, booklets, media tools and the Internet.
