Quality Assurance with Quality Management

Analyzes performed to attain Quality Assurance are essential components of the daily routine. The outcomes of these studies are evaluated in regular meetings. Using international quality control programs that we are a participating member, we are maintaining our standards at the highest level. A short time after foundation of our laboratories, requirements for ISO-9001:2000 Quality Management System Documentation were completely fulfilled. With an awareness that these documentation is only a step in our journey of quality, our laboratory received in October, 2005, ISO-15189 : 2003 Accreditation which is the basic documentation of quality for clinical laboratories. Our laboratory is the first laboratory in Turkey that has been officially accredited and recognized with internationa agreements.

We are keeping our standards at the highest leve thanks to our membership in international quality contro programs. These external quality control programs include DGKL ( Deutsche Vereinte Gesellschaft fur Klinische Chemie und Laboratoriumsmedizin e.V.) , Instand (InstitutfurStandardisierung und Dokumentation im medizinishen Laboratorium e.V.).

How an accredited laboratory DIFFERS?

Accreditation of a clinical laboratory is an auditing of adequacy of laboratories as for realization of certain tests and methods of measurements, and closeness of their results to target values i.e. their accuracy. Institutions of accreditation that perform auditing are internationally recognized and respected institutes within international auditing chain.

"To be accredited" is a prestigious status that means that this laboratory is implementing a valid quality management system and fulfilling the requirements set forth by standards. To maintain this status laboratories are periodically re-evaluated by an accreditation institution in order to control both the degree of fulfillment of requirements of accreditation continually and also maintenance of operational standards These audits constitute the most important quality assurance related to the services of laboratories..

How do you know for sure that a laboratory is accredited?

Accreditation institutions have logos and accreditation marks protected by international agreements. On test reports of the accredited laboratories, generally markers, logos or seals are found. You should request the list of tests or measurement procedures accredited by the laboratory. This list is stated in the Extent of Accreditation and can be obtained from the laboratory if requested.
