I want to thank Acibadem for the healthy person I am now. In 2005 I had an abdominoplasty surgery done by Dr. B. Yilmaz and Sr. R. Gürünlüoglu. They made a dream come true for me. I had a very pleasant stay for 4 days in the Acibadem Kadikoy hospital for my operation, and after that, I stayed with friends in Istanbul . I was very impressed by the professionalism of the hospital, nurses, doctors and all the people working at Acibadem.
Because of the good treatment I received last year at Acibadem, I decided to do liposuction this year as a finishing touch. The results are amazing. I recommend everybody who thinks of doing plastic surgery to contact Acibadem healthcare group, because they are very specialized in cosmetic surgery. Successul operation
At first, I was wearing Contact Lenses, but my optician then recommended me to wear glasses. Before my LASIK operation, I had glasses with strength -6,5 /-5,5. Since I hate wearing glasses, the best solution for this was to have the laser operation (lasik) for my eyes. So then I started doing a hospital research on the net, and the website of Acıbadem International caught my attention. The information in this website is very clear and persuading that I took the risk and went to Turkey with my girlfriend. All our transportations, hotel, and hospital appointments were arranged by Acibadem International department, part of Acıbadem Healthcare Group.
As soon as we arrived to the Acibadem ophthalmology clinic at Etiler, I had my consultation with Doctor Gülbin Saltık and she observed a chronic eyelid lighting which was never discovered before. Also my eyes were too dry. Because of this, it was uncertain whether the treatment could be applied. Therefore, my operation could only be done the next day. And until then, I had to apply artificial tear fluid drops in my eyes each hour. The next day after consultation with another doctor (Dr. Esra Üçbaşaran) I was ready for the operation.
My LASIK operation was very succesful because during my post-op control my vision was already far better than before. After the treatment, during the first few hours it is difficult to keep your eyes open since you get the feeling that you cannot endure the light. However, after 3 hours of rest in the hotel, that feeling goes away and a world opens for you.
Even now, a week later, I am astonished at my wonderful eyesight. I can see even better than the time I was wearing glasses. The attention you get in the hospital really gives you the feeling that they know exactly what they are doing. Also I am happy with the accompaniment and consultations. Both doctors speak English and take the time to explain the results.

Welcoming, courteous, kind, friendly, and full of smiles -- Yes, this is how I was greeted by the hospital staff at Acibadem Hospital Kadikoy as I visited there for my first check up during my pregnancy. Registration was easy as I answered a few questions and then was escorted to the lobby to wait for my appointment. My doctor spoke English very well and was very nice as she spoke and examined me. She was very patient and took her time to make sure that I understood all that she was explaining. The staff at LabMed was very helpful. Though English was not their first language they went out of their way to make sure that I was getting the treatment and labwork done that I needed.

Move over Madonna!

Having read about the “Madonna” face lift that was apparently “only available in the States” (sic Grazia magazine March 9th 2009) and after extensive research I have had the treatment in Istanbul, Turkey for a fraction of the UK or USA costs.

Initially I was only looking for eye laser correction and had undergone 3 consultations in the UK plus received quotes from another 6 companies providing the treatment. Prices ranged from around £3,000 to £4,000. Several exhaustive months later following extensive research into laser treatment abroad, I elected to go to the Acibadem Hospital Group in Instanbul. Not only did I have the eye laser treatment but also had my upper eyelids lifted and a mini face lift using the ribbon technique. This uses endotine ribbons inserted to lift the muscles in a far less invasive manner than a full on radical face lift.

Eye laser was carried out on day 1 of my stay; the rest of my surgery took place 9 days later. My treatment within the Acibadem Hospital Group was fantastic; a personal interpreter is allocated on arrival, everyone was so kind, polite and helpful. The hospitals were amazing, clean, comfortable, modern, providing all the latest technology, plus friendly staff and good food. I was discharged 2 days after the cosmetic surgery with miniscule bruising on my neck and none whatsoever on my eyelids! My surgeon told me it depends on how and where the area is anaesthetised, too deep into the muscle and you will bruise. I had two further check ups and stitches removed before flying home. Transportation was included and arranged for all hospital appointments, plus airport transfers on arrival and departure. I chose to arrange my own hotel but this is also sourced if you wish. The overall costs were less than the £4,000 quoted in the UK for eye laser treatment alone but included a great deal more in Turkey – all of my surgery, 3 nights in hospital, transfers, flights, hotels, eating out, and so on for 16 days in total. Now that’s what I call a holiday to remember!
