Acıbadem Stem Cell and Umbilical Cord Blood Bank is a storage and production laboratory where Acıbadem Hospitals Group’s research on prospective therapy methods are conducted, which keeps up with and builds on current applications. The laboratory has an infrastructure where all tissues proven to be viable with scientific data can be stored and all therapeutic cell processes can be conducted up to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.

Umbilical Cord Blood Bank is the most common example of cell and tissue storage (banking) applications. Umbilical cord blood, which is among the most valuable sources of stem cells known, is stored upon the family’s wish in case it is needed in the future. Acıbadem Stem Cell and Umbilical Cord Blood Bank which operates with the approval of the Ministry of Health and in accordance with legal regulations, hosts over 5000 units. Thus, it can be called Turkey’s oldest and highest capacity Umbilical Cord Blood Bank. In addition to umbilical cord blood, the peripheric stem cells and bone marrow samples collected for patients being treated by the Acıbadem Healthcare Group are also stored in the frozen state until the moment they are to be used.
