In 1992 he was appointed as the director of Marmara University Institute of Neurological Sciences. In 1992 he trained in skull-base surgery at Pittsburgh University, Virginia University and George Washington University. In 1985 he received Gamma-Knife training at Karolinska University in Stockholm-Sweden. He served as a member of the Marmara University Institute of Neurological Sciences Foundation-Board of Trustees, as a member of Marmara University-Floating Capital-Purchase Department, as a member of Marmara University-Floating Capital-Management Department and as the Physician in Chief of Marmara University Hospital. He also served as the President of Turkish Neurosurgical Society, as a member of Turkish Neurosurgical Society-Training Committee and as the director of Turkish Neurosurgical Society training course and as a member of the Advisory Board of Turkish Neurosurgical Society. Internationally, he served as a member of the Training Committee of European Association of Neurological Surgery (EANS), as a member of the World Federation of Neurological Surgery (WFNS)-Stereotactic Radiosurgery working group, as a member of the World Federation of Neurological Surgery (WFNS)-Skull Base Surgery working group, as an executive committee member and as the secretary of Meningiomas and Cerebral Venous System Society, as the director of Academia Eurasiana Neurochirurgica and as a founding member of World Academy of Neurological Surgery.

Dr. Pamir currently serves as the president of the Acibadem University.


Doctor Pamir is in the review board of 8 international journals including Neurosurgery and Acta Neurochirurgica. He organized 13 international and national meetings. He is a member of 16 international and national societies. He is the only Turkish member of American Academy of Neurological Surgery. He has received 9 awards. He has given invited lectures in Neurosurgery Departments of 8 universities including Harvard University, Yale University and University of Toronto. He has 190 international publications, 171 presentations at international meetings, 26 international conference presentations; 97 publications in Turkish, 371 presentations at national meetings and 53 national conference presentations.
